Press Release  Pinellas County EMS/Sunstar has recently been named the recipient of Emergency Medical Services Magazine’s seventh annual Gold Standard Service of the Year Award. Each year that publication bestows this honor to the EMS system in the United States that best demonstrates a high level of dedication, teamwork and commitment to EMS.
Pinellas County AED Ordinance
The Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida, is empowered to provide ambulance services and emergency medical services through its EMS Authority. Pursuant to Article VIII of the Constitution of the State of Florida, the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida, further finds it has the authority to exercise broad home rule powers and, as such, finds it is in the best interest of the citizens of Pinellas County to enact this Ordinance. Pinellas County Drowning Registry Unfortunately, drowning remains the leading cause of death from injury among children ages 1 to 4 in the State of Florida and the second highest cause nationwide after traffic crashes. Submersion incidents not resulting in death (Near Drowning), which can result in lifelong brain damage, are nearly eight times more frequent than incidents that result in death.
